Lance Pederson
Lance Pederson is a PhD student in History at the University of Illinois at Urbana-
Champaign. Broadly, his research focuses on queer sexuality and gender transgression
in France and its colonial empire from 1660 to 1815. More specifically, his recent work
has centered around queer male social networks within the court of Louis XIV. In this
episode, he will be talking about the short but eventful marriage between Louis XIV’s
younger brother, Philippe d’Orléans, and Charles II’s younger sister, Henrietta Anne of
England.
