After 15 years as an investment banker and analyst, Giesler pursued a Masters in American studies at the University of Seville in 2016. It was there that Giesler discovered the diaries of Francisco de Saavedra, a man who served as an essential link between Spain and France during the American Revolutionary War and wrote his dissertation on him. Giesler turned his dissertation into the widely-acclaimed book Francisco De Saavedra’s American Revolutionary War: The Spanish Contribution to the Battle of Yorktown.
