Today’s special episode is an interview with Dr. Scott Dominic Carpenter. Carpenter holds a PhD in French Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. As a professor at Carleton College he taught French literature and creative writing, both in Minnesota and in Paris, over the course of more than three decades.
The author of several academic tomes, Carpenter is best known for his books about life in Paris: French Like Moi (2020) and Paris Lost & Found (2024) and received several writing awards. Today we are talking about his new project to Make America French Again which examines historical connections between France and the United States and advocates through humor the Frenchification of the US.
